Wednesday Afternoon at the Movies
Young Frankenstein (1974) — 105 minutes
Mel Brooks’ tribute to Mary Shelley’s classic pokes hilarious fun at just about every Frankenstein movie ever made. Summoned by a will to his late grandfather’s castle in Transylvania, young Dr. Frankenstein (Gene Wilder) soon discovers the scientist’s step-by-step manual for bringing a corpse to life. Assisted by Igor (Marty Feldman) and Inga (Teri Garr), he creates a monster (Peter Boyle) who wants only to be loved. A critical and box office smash, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN was deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" by the United States National Film Preservation Board, and selected for preservation in the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 2003.
Enjoy a classic Hollywood picture each month. Films include dramas, comedies and thrillers dating from the 1930s through the 1980s. Please note: no food or beverages are permitted in the auditorium.
