Though officially released just ten days before the new year, on December 21, 1949, Samson and Delilah was the top grossing file of 1950 and remained a box office sensation for months. DeMille, this sweeping biblical epic tells the dramatic story of Samson, a Hebrew warrior granted immense strength, and Delilah, the cunning Philistine who ultimately betrays him. Starring Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr, the film thrilled audiences with its grand spectacle, romance, and action.

At the time of its release, Samson and Delilah became the third highest grossing film, earning $9 million in theatrical rentals during its initial run.
